A Behind-The-Scenes Look At How The New Leica T Camera Is Made

The technology website The Verge has unveiled photos of how Leica’s new camera is made.

The Leica T will be the company’s first line of mirrorless, non-rangefinder cameras, and comes with an all-new lens mount and a sleek design.

The camera company has teamed up with Audi for a more modern look, and draws inspiration from Apple’s manufacturing process—for instance, the camera chassis is made out of a single aluminum block.

This model will be the first interchangeable lens camera to have a true unibody aluminum frame.

After the chassis is made, Leica employees polish it before adding electronics.
