Tokyo-based design studio YOY has created an intriguing new vase that looks just like an ordinary book on the outside.
Simply named “Book”, this book-shaped plant pot can be placed on its own or “shelved” together with your real books for a surreal effect—the plant is designed to shoot out of the top of the “book”, making it seem like it has grown out of the paper pages.
Opening the book—which is made of waterproof PMMA and PVC—reveals a small compartment for soil and from which to grow the plant.
The title on this faux book is The Life of Plants, something that will not look out of place on most bookshelves.
